What is Matrix Repatterning?

  • It is a clinically proven, gentle, hands-on treatment that precisely locates and treats injury at
    the SOURCE of
    the problem, eliminating discomforting symptoms.
  • The treatment ‘works from the inside out’, restoring and correcting imbalances at the cellular level,
    deep in
    the structure of the body.
  • When obstructions are cleared at the cellular level, the body’s natural healing mechanisms become unblocked and are able to perform efficiently.
  • ‚Äč‚ÄčOnce a primary restriction (site of injury) is cleared, only new injury warrants more treatment.
  • The average adult requires 6 -10 treatments to clear all levels of restriction.
  • Matrix Repatterning is covered by Extended Health Plans that provide coverage for Registered Massage Therapy.

Common Conditions Treated (to name a few...):

  • headaches,
  • head injuries
  • TMJ (jaw pain)
  • dizziness
  • tinnitis (ear noise)
  • rotator cuff
  • frozen shoulder
  • carpel tunnel
  • low back pain
  • neck/back/knee/hip or joint pain

As well as physical traumas caused by:
impact injuries from falls, car crashes, sports, and repetitive strain injuries.

How does it work?

Over time, especially as adults, we collect a history of injuries in our bodies. The body is very adaptable and therefore makes adjustments in order to continue functioning. However, injuries do not just disappear, they become layers of tension in the body. As the tensions build, these layers can manifest as physical symptoms, often in remote areas to the injuries. A symptom can be remote to an injury due to the continuous fabric in the body known as the extracellular matrix. The matrix interconnects each of the bodies parts to one another. Nothing is isolated, it is all connected.Locating a site of injury (primary restriction) and treating that site, relieves a layer of tension or symptom. This relief is the process of unlayering the levels of injury. As one layer is relieved an old one is revealed and possible old symptoms arise. These new symptoms are revealing the next layer to be treated. As the tensions of the body are consecutively relieved the body’s pain and restriction decrease and the mobility, stability and range of motions increase.

What to Expect at a treatment?

Initially the client will go through an interview with the practitioner, that reviews the health history of the client, a detailed assessment (postural imbalances, tonicity of soft tissue, stability and range of motion of major joints, reflex/neurological tests and a scan of the full body to assess for the sites of injury). The assessment findings will identify the various areas that require treatment and how these areas relate to your symptoms. (can run from 45-75 minutes)
Subsequent treatments standard duration is 45 minutes and
will consist of a brief reassessment of the client’s status, checking some ranges of motion and rescanning of the body to discover where the treatment should continue.

The actual treatment is very gentle and hands-on. Specific vectors of primary restriction (sites of injury) are tested and than treated by using gentle pressure to release tissue tensions. The release can facilitate the restoration of muscle tone, flexibility, joint mobility and optimal biomechanical function

MatrixPulse Scanner

The Matrix Pulse Scanner is used during the treatment, both for assessment and treatment. The scanner allows the therapist to identify primary restrictions or points of injury with more accuracy. It also has the advantage of increasing the speed of tissue healing.

New Clients

Please print and fill out the Matrix Repatterning New Client Form and than bring it to your first appointment.

What to wear?
It is best to wear loose and comfortable clothing at your appointment ie. sweatpants, yoga pants, shorts, T-shirt, loose fitting top.
Also, please refrain from wearing an underwire bra, (sport bras are a good substitute). The wire interferes with the bodies natural, electrical signal.

After a treatment (what to do and expect)

  • Be sure to drink plenty of water over the next 24 hours (approx. 2L or 8 x 8oz glasses.).
You want to flush out and rehydrate areas that were once restricted.
  • Be easy on yourself for 24 hours. This means no physical, strenuous activity.
Your body needs time to adjust to the new structural positioning.
  • You may experience new symptoms, that are possibly old symptoms arising as the next layers are revealed.
These new symptoms are not to be alarmed at, take notice of them, and realize that the treatment is having an effect.
  • You may also experience fatigue and/or flu-like symptoms ie. nausea,
    again these are symptoms associated
    with the body realigning
  • The affects of the treatment can be felt immediately and up to a couple of days after the treatment.
aware of these changes for the next treatment (possibly jotting them down in a notepad or in your
as the therapist will be asking you about them.
